Giveaway; Create BF/CM Deals Page; Schema From SERPs; Best Affiliate Programs; Video SEO; Knowledge Bombs; Avoid Capital Gains Taxes; and Much More!
FIRST…
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are coming up. Are you preparing your sites for BF/CM deals?
Do you create a Deals Page for your sites?
I haven't seen anyone talking about this to take advantage of Q4. Lots of earnings opportunities here if you already have traffic to your site.
Even if your site only contains informational articles, you can still create a specific deals page for visitors. Here's what I like to do.
I create a specific BF/CM page of curated deals from Amazon and other affiliate programs.
I create a notification message in 1 of 2 places. One is at the top of the site on every page. The other option is at the top of every post. It depends on my site layout and how the top bar affects navigation for visitors.
I'm not looking to create a deals page that will rank in the niche if someone is searching Google for "black friday deals for [niche]." If the deals page does rank organically, that's even better!
The deals page is only for visitors that are already visiting my sites. I'm offering them an option to get some deals during the discount holiday.
These pages are really easy to create too. I just create some H2 headers for different categories and use the AAWP plugin to create product boxes and category lists.
Even if your site isn't focused on affiliate sales, I still think Q4 is a good time to increase your earnings as many people will be buying things for themselves or others. Once BF/CM is over, you then have Christmas and other holiday sales.
Take a look at your site and see how you can take advantage of Q4!

SEO
If you create videos for your niche sites, Google updated their best practices for better rankings of your videos. They included a couple of key tips:
Make sure that each video is available on a public web page where users can watch the video. Make sure that the page isn't blocked by robots.txt or noindex robots meta tag; this ensures that Google can find and index your page.
To give your videos maximum exposure, create a dedicated page for each video, where the video is the most prominent subject on the page. It's fine to include the same video on both a dedicated page and its original page alongside other information, like a news article or a product detail page.
Onely summarizes the most interesting questions and answers from the Google SEO Office Hours with John Mueller on October 29th, 2021. There are some good topics covered here:
Noindex pages and Core Updates
Anchor links for the authors
Country code top domain
Page titles and rankings
The Disavow tool
Building trust with Google
Copying content and indexing the copied content first
Business presence in social media vs. PageRank
The Penguin penalty vs. spammy links
No. 8 and social media is an especially good one that I don't see enough niche sites doing. Social media profile pages can be seen as a "normal web page." So keep up those social media accounts and posts.
I should also say that I don't focus on creating a community or group on social media, it's just for the backlinks. If I have do have a niche that can I build a community around, I'll do that much later on when there's a lot of traffic.

Steve Toth from SEO Notebook quickly goes over this great tool to grab the schema types in the SERPs from Sandbox Web.
It's more useful for Local SEO, but if you're using schema for anything like product reviews and recipes, it might be good for you to check out if the competition is using any schema.

The House Ways and Means Committee has approved President Joe Biden’s new tax proposal to increase capital gains tax for high-income earners from 20% to 25%. The top corporate tax rate will also increase from 21% to 26.5%, with a lower rate offered to small businesses. The top marginal individual income tax rate has been increased back up to 39.6%.
These tax changes are more for US taxpayers, but it still affects the industry in general. Empire Flippers takes a look at if it's too late to sell their online businesses to avoid the capital gains tax increase.
